You're
the Owner, You Decide.
Let's
say you own a store that sells cookies. Your store is located
in North Carolina. You're making a reasonable
profit at your cookie store. But, let's say you once recieved
a special order from out in Texas, for a huge batch
of
your delicious cookies. So you packed up the cookies, shipped
them, and they arrived at the customer's front door the next
day.Now,
if it were possible for word about your little store to spread
so many miles away, just think of what you could do if you
were to begin advertising your product to people all over
the world!!

All
you would have to do is to get a "virtual" version
of your cookie shop established on the web; and advertise,
advertise, advertise. Before you know it, you would have so
many orders coming in, you wouldn't be able to keep up!
"Mr.
Shopper"
E-Commerce
is not only beneficial to you,
the seller, but is beneficial to the buyer as well. Items
sold online are, in most cases, less expensive than items
that one would buy in a conventional store. This
is due to the fact that items sold online usually don't have
as many overhead expenses. E-Commerce
allows consumers to shop for any product, at any time, have
the product delivered, and all without leaving the comfort
of their home.
|
The
consumer (we'll call him "Mr. Shopper") simply
searches the web for the product that he needs. Once the
product is found, Mr. Shopper can then enter in the necessary
information (contact info, addresses, form of payment, etc.),
and the product will be delivered directly to Mr.Shopper's
door.
The
Faces of E-Commerce
E-Commerce comes in many different shapes and sizes. If
a business has a relatively small number of products which
they sell, it might use a simple form. The shopper would
simply fill out the form, including all contact information
and all products that he is requesting. Some businesses
may find it neccessary to set up a shopping cart system
for their many products.

This
gives Mr. Shopper a much more interactive way to shop for
his product. When he sees something he likes, he can just
click "put in cart" or "buy". He can
then move on, and put as many items in his cart as he wants.
When has finished shopping, he can view the contents of
his cart. When all is satisfactory, Mr. Shopper just fills
out the necessary information, and the product is shipped
to him. With a shopping cart system, the shopper doesn't
have to remember or jot down the item numbers prior to entering
the item numbers into a form.
The
objective is simple. Today's shoppers buy on impulse. If
they can see it, buy it instantly, and if they want it badly
enough, chances are that they will make the purchase. E-Commerce
provides your shoppers with convenience, and your business
with profits.
