What
is a Domain Name?
This is fairly simple. The domain name and domain for the
web site you are looking at right now is "www.MuncyWeb.com"
(.com being the domain, and MuncyWeb being the domain name).

Your
domain name is what people will type in their browsers to
look up your site. You can use any name you want for your
domain name. Once you have decided on a domain name, you must
look and see if it is available. You can use the form below
to see if the name you want is available. Next, you need to
decide whether you want your domain name to be at .com,
.net, or .org. The only difference in these
is just their names. Obviously, .com is the most popular
domain in use today, and we recommend it to our clients because
of that. If .com is not available, you can choose another
domain.
Is
it Available?
In
the box below, type the domain name that you are interested
in. Your domain name will either come up as being "Available"
or "Reserved". If your domain name is available,
give us a call right
away to reserve your name for just $35.

About
Domain Mirroring
Often
it can benefit a business or organization to have more than
one domain name pointing to a web site. For instance, Apple
Computer owns multiple domains including Apple.com,
iMac.com, Powerbook.com,
and others. Clicking on any one of these domain names will
direct you to somewhere on Apple's web site. Owning multiple
domains is a great way to be sure that people find your site
easily. It may be that someone forgets what your main domain
name is, so they try another one. If their second choice is
mirrored to your site, then your site has one more visitor!
This is also a great way to be sure that you, not your competitors,
own your business name on the internet. Domain mirroring
is $50 per domain, per year.
